When you feel the sorrow of us being apart, know I am not lost, I’m a part of your heart.

Our loving Mother and Grandmother was born June 29,1936 in Harlesden, Middlesex, England. At 10 years old, she was sent to live in Geraldton, Australia, at Nazareth House until adulthood. When she left, Mom traveled the world, eventually making it to San Francisco, CA., to study and train as a nurse’s aide. It was there where she met the love of her life, our father, Roy Robert Wallace. They were married in Reno, NV. February 3,1968. After, Mom became a United States citizen, which she defined as the proudest day of her life.

Mom and Dad moved to Utah in 1972 and remained there for the rest of their lives. Mom worked in a variety of roles throughout her life. She retired from American Express after many dedicated years of service, a job she truly enjoyed.

From the time she was born, Mom overcame many hardships in her life. It seemed every difficult moment only made her stronger and more determined. Her strength and determination have been an inspiration to all who knew her to carry on and never lose hope. One of her favorite sayings was, “you can achieve anything you set your mind to.” Mom always prioritized her family first. She was a loving mother and grandmother first and foremost in her life, making sure they never went without. The world evolved around her family. Their happiness and joy were her own. Her love for us all will be deeply missed, but never-ending. Her love and assistance carried on to her friends and those she held close in life.

Mom was preceded in death by her husband, Roy. She is survived by her two daughters, Anne Wallace and Debbie Utley; her son‑in‑law, Mark Utley; and her grandchildren, Kenna Wallace and her wife, Rebecca Sly, Austin Utley, and Hannah Wallace.

Our family would like to honor the incredible caregivers who surrounded Mom with love. Shelley, Adrienne, and the Vitality Health of Utah team guided and supported us throughout Mom’s care over the last few years. At Spring Gardens Assisted Living, every member of the nursing and caregiving team treated her as though she were their own, offering compassion that went far beyond duty. We also extend heartfelt thanks to the leadership and entire staff for welcoming Mom with respect and tenderness, lifting our spirits and restoring our faith in humanity.

We are deeply grateful to Mom’s dedicated hospice team from Canyon Hospice; Karen, Mia, and Kelli, whose constant presence and kindness carried us through each moment. We especially want to recognize Claudia from Canyon Home Health. Her gentle devotion meant the world to Mom and to all of us. The extraordinary compassion she showed on Mom’s final day will forever remain one of the most meaningful gifts our family has ever received.

Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, September 23 at 11am at Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 West 4100 South. The family will receive friends at a viewing one hour prior to the service at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South.
