Chance John Mercado

Our loving father, brother, grandson and friend, Chance John Mercado, 29, passed away on August 2, 2017, in Kearns, Utah. He was born on July 3, 1988, in Kearns, Utah to Pete Joseph Mercado and Jani Helen Martin. He attended Kearns High.

Chance loved the Denver Broncos and 2Pac. He enjoyed spending time with his son playing sports and going camping to their favorite spot in Moab. He was an amazing friend with an outgoing personality. He had a huge heart and loved to make people laugh with his witty jokes. We will miss him dearly.

Chance is survived by his son, Malakai; sisters, Desirae Mercado, Amber Tolman and Michelle Mercado Church; grandmothers, Helen Martin, Karol Blackhawk and Julie Mercado; uncles, Ben Martin, Jody Martin, Wayne Birdtail and Chris (Gloria) Mercado; aunts, Faith Franklin, Tina (Chad) Dalpiaz and Denise (Ronnie) Talbot. He is preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held for Chance on Thursday, August 10, 2017, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah.

In lieu of flowers donations would be appreciated for Malakai’s care. They may be given to Helen Martin.
