April 1, 1970, to December 19, 2025
With deep love and gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we remember D’Ann Motu’apuaka Ika, a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, faithful servant, and a woman whose presence made everything around her more beautiful.
D’Ann was born on April 1, 1970, in Te’ekiu Tongatapu, Tonga, where she spent her early childhood surrounded by faith, family, and culture. At the age of seven, she immigrated to Los Angeles, beginning a new chapter while carrying her Tongan roots proudly in her heart. Those roots shaped the woman she became as strong, nurturing, joyful, and deeply devoted to service.
She graduated from Liahona High School in 1988, and on February 25, 1991, she married the love of her life, Daniel Ika. Their marriage was one of deep companionship, laughter, and enduring love. Together, they built a home filled with music, dancing, hard work, and unwavering care for family.
D’Ann was the proud and devoted mother of Everett, Ellefina, and Ailini, and a cherished grandmother to Tapukitea, Tu’itaniela, Tamaali’i, Pone, and Inoke. Nothing brought her greater joy than time spent with her family, dancing the night away with her husband, children, and grandchildren, singing with a joyful heart, and making sure everyone around her felt deeply loved and cared for.
A natural creator, D’Ann had a gift for making leis, decorating for special events, and transforming ordinary moments into something meaningful and beautiful. She loved to work, loved to serve, and gave much of her life to caring for little children, both in her family and through her devoted service in the church. Her faith was lived daily through quiet acts of love, tireless service, and an open heart.
D’Ann was a strong woman, beautiful beyond words, inside and out. Her hands were always busy serving, her voice often lifted in song, and her spirit radiated warmth, kindness, and grace. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and selfless devotion that will continue to bless all who knew her.
D’Ann passed away on December 19, 2025, surrounded by the love she so freely gave throughout her life.
Her funeral services will be held on December 29, 2025, in West Valley City.
Though our hearts ache in her absence, we find comfort in knowing her love lives on in her family, her grandchildren, and the countless lives she touched. Her life was a testament to service, faith, and unconditional love, and she will be forever missed and eternally cherished.
