It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Danny Kone, a beloved father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many. Danny departed this world on June 9, 2026, at his home in Syracuse, Utah, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 73 years old.
Danny was born on February 2, 1953, in the beautiful city of Salt Lake City, Utah, to Eugene and Ramona Kone and had 8 siblings. Mike Kone, Laura Garcia, Pat Kone, Diane Greenhalgh (Larry), Brent Kone, Scott Kone (Merlene), Wendy Phillips (Eugene), Jeff Kone (Robin).
Raised with deep family values, Danny grew to embody the warmth and kindness that characterized his parents. His journey through life was marked by love, laughter, and a deep sense of community.
On June 7, 1973, Danny married the love of his life, Grace Armstrong. Together, they built a life filled with love and joy, nurturing their two children, Dawnyell Prigga and Shilo Kone. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership until Grace's passing, which left a profound void in Danny’s life.
Danny spent the majority of his career as a dedicated truck driver, a profession that suited his love for the open road and his hardworking nature. After many years of service, he retired, allowing him more time to indulge in his favorite pastimes. An avid lover of the outdoors, Danny found great peace in fishing and camping, activities that allowed him to connect with nature and his family. The garage was his sanctuary, where he would sit for hours, listening to the soothing music of the blues. One of his greatest joys was taking his great-grandchildren for rides on his 4-wheeler, their giggles and smiles a testament to the joy he brought into their lives.
Danny was predeceased by his beloved wife, Grace Kone; his parents, Eugene and Ramona Kone; his brothers, Brent and Mike Kone; and his grandson, Steven Ruttenbur. He is survived by his daughter, Dawnyell Prigga; his son, Shilo Kone and daughter-in-law, Kari Kone; grandchildren, Destany, Amanda, Jordan, Taylor, and Kyle; and seven cherished great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
