Darrell Alfred Brown Sr.

Our beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully today, December 5, 2010 due to Multiple Myeloma Cancer.

Born in Nevada City, CA on April 18, 1940 where he was adopted by his mother and father. He later met his sweetheart, Michele Ann Brown whom he married. He was a very proud member of AA for 41 years. He continued through all the years to go to meetings and share his experiences he had early in his life, and helped others through their lives.

He worked at Associated Food Stores as a truck driver for 23 years, where he later retired. He won driver appreciation/safety awards 1993 and 1999. He was an avid golfer and loved to golf every chance he could. He was a member of Meadow Brook men’s golf club for 22 years. Loved and lived life to the fullest. Loved to socialize and meet new people and spend time with family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Darrell is survived by his loving wife, Michele A. Brown; 8 wonderful children, Michael, Christine (Al), Darrell Jr. (Michelle), Donald (Kathy), Robert, Tammy (Jeff), Bobby (Connie) and Richard (Kim); 18 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. We would like to say a Special Thank You to John (Tiny), Jeff N, Ernie, Ernesto, Doug and Suzie and Charlene for all your support through this, and being such wonderful friends and bringing the meetings home to him.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 12:00 noon at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South. A viewing for family and friends will be held Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
