Earl was born on August 3, 1947 in Salt Lake City, UT to David Edgar and Maurine Timothy Dean. He graduated from Granite High School (1965), participated in sports, excelling in baseball, and other school activities.
In 1964 he was recognized and received the Boy Scouts of America Heroism Award for saving the lives of two boys from drowning. Earl honorably served his country in the Air Force for 4 years.
He met the love of his life, his “Only You” Rachel and married October 1, 1970. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. He was blessed with 6 beautiful daughters, Stacy (Skip), Keli (Armando), Holly, Emily (Brad), Cindy (Jacob), and Christy (Jehovany).
After 30 years, he retired as a truck driver from Nation’s Way. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and enjoyed serving as a missionary in the Cambodian branch. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing golf, and going for rides in the beautiful canyons
He is survived by his lovely wife, 6 daughters, 5 son-in-law’s, 15 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild on the way, and his brother Mark (Tammy). Preceded in death by his parents and sister.
We appreciate all those at the VA Hospital that helped with Earl’s care.
A graveside service will be held at Valley View Memorial on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at 11 am.
