Delale A Murphy

Delale Alexander Murphy passed away in Taylorsville, Utah, at the age of 95, on May 21, 2017. He was born on January 21, 1922, to Lawrence Murphy and Alice Murphy in Upalco, Utah. On April 15, 1945 he married Georgia Turner in Kinston, North Carolina.

He spent his life serving his family, church and community. He loved the scouting program and served for over 20 years. He loved his family and spending time with grand-children. He could fix or repair anything and was happiest when he was quietly serving his family and friends. His legacy of service will be an example to his family for years to come. He was always happy and his smile was a gift to all that knew him.

A special thank you to the Nurses and staff at the Avalon West Care Center, for taking such good care of him, and to neighbors and friends for all of the help and support they have given.

Delale is survived by his sweet wife, Georgia Turner Murphy; children, Tim Delale Murphy (son), Joan Louise Giddings (deceased), Brent Lawrence Murphy (deceased); six grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren; parents, Lawrence Murphy, Alice Marett Murphy; siblings, Verl Murphy, Rose Marie Murphy, Loraine Murphy, Dorothy Murphy, Rupert Murphy.

A viewing will be held from 10:00-10:45 a.m. at 6250 South 2200 West, Taylorsville, Utah on Thursday, May 25, 2017 with the funeral service following at 11:00 a.m.

The interment will be held at Valley View Memorial Park, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley, Utah 84120.
