She was born June 23, 1923 in Fountain, Colorado to Jane Kinder and Steve Chacon. She attended school in Fountain, Colorado. Della Married Tom Showell on May 1, 1998 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was a member of the Catholic church. She worked at The University of Utah in Central Service for 20 years.
Mom liked to be outside taking care of her flowers and yard. She loved the sunshine and would open all the curtains; it would make her so happy when the sunshine came in. She enjoyed reading books. Her light in the bedroom was always on until 3:00 in the morning. She loved her faithful and protective dog, Woody. She enjoyed doing puzzles, dancing, and embroidery, but most of all, she loved all her children and grandchildren. She had 6 children, 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 18 great-great grandchildren.
Mom will be buried next to her grandson, Leonard Isaac Baker. She will be extremely missed by family and friends.
Survived by children: Marie Baker, Felix Sandoval, Eric Belinni, Bernice Griggs and Angie Chavez.
Preceded in death by her parents, grandson, son-in-law, son, and all her siblings.
