Delores Rae Gardner

January 15, 1952 – April 25, 2025
Obituary of Delores Rae Gardner
IN THE CARE OF

Valley View Memorial Park and Funeral Home

Delores Rae Gardner, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on January 15, 1952, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Delores spent her life surrounded by the beauty of the state she called home, residing in West Valley City, Utah, at the time of her passing.

Her journey was marked by an enduring love story that began at the tender age of 14 when she found her true love, LeRoy Gardner. Together, they shared a lifetime of memories and were truly inseparable until his passing.

Family was the cornerstone of Delores's life. She found immense joy in the company of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were her world. Her home was a place of warmth and love, where she created cherished memories and traditions, including her passion for crochet and knitting. Each blanket and cover she crafted was a testament to her love and is treasured by her family.

Known for her vibrant spirit and radiant smile, Delores had an uncanny ability to light up any room she entered. Her heart overflowed with love and care for those around her, and her storytelling captivated her family, who will hold dear the tales of her childhood and life experiences.

Delores was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Lura Ludwig, her father, Robert Ludwig, her brother, Ronald (Pamela) Ludwig, and her sister, Caroll (Greg) Archibald. She is survived by her siblings: Marie (Michael) Johnson, Janet Ludwig, Michael (Irma) Ludwig, Gary Ludwig, and LaRae Ludwig. Her legacy of love continues through her children: Donnette (Asa) Fridley, David (Rocio) Gardner, and Leon (Sharon) Gardner.

Services to honor Delores and her remarkable life will be announced at a later date. Her departure leaves a void that can never be filled, as she is missed dearly and taken from us too soon. Time, indeed, is a thief, and we wish we had more moments to share with Delores. Her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
