Deloris Elizabeth (Lindsay) Vester, 95 ½ years old passed away April 28th, 2022, in Kearns Utah. She was born November 20th, 1926, in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois to Robert M. Lindsay and Wilhelmina Peterson Lindsay. She attended Glencoe High in Oakpark Illinois.
She married her sweetheart Carl Bennie Vester on August 1st, 1945, in Chicago Illinois. She and Carl spent the first days of their married life traveling West to Portland Oregon on a troop train during WW II. She lived in Oregon for the next 60 years raising her family there.
In 2006 she moved to West Valley City, Utah to live with her son and his wife. She joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints a year later and was an active member of this faith for the rest of her life. In 2019 she moved to the Summit Senior Center, for her safety, and lived there until her death.
Deloris loved sewing and quilting and made several baby quilts. She also enjoyed baking and loved to enter her baked goods in the County Fairs in both Oregon and Utah usually earning a blue ribbon.
Deloris is survived by her sister JoAnn Teas, her daughter Nancy Cavitt and her son Allen Vester. As well as 6 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her father Robert M Lindsay, her mother Wilhelmina Lindsay, her husband Carl Bennie Vester, her Son Richard Lindsay Vester, and her daughter JoAnn Elizabeth Johnstead.
Funeral services will be held May 3rd, 2022, at 11 a.m. with a viewing at 10 a.m. and family prayer at 10:45. The services are to be held at the Harmon Building of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 4634 Harmon Drive, West Valley City, Utah.
