Denise Leone Navarro passed away on 5/25/21 at her at her newly purchased and adorable home in Blackfoot, ID. Denise was born in Pasadena, CA in 1966 and adopted by the Dangerfield family of Magna, UT shortly after. Denise had one daughter with her first husband. Her daughter was the brightest ray of light in her life. Denise had many cats and dogs that she loved dearly. She was a licensed drug and alcohol counselor and obtained a bachelor’s degree in clinical psychology from ISU. Denise helped many people who suffered from emotional pain associated with drug abuse and was hoping to continue her education. Denise was a vibrant and passionate person who called herself a “free spirit”. Denise had a dark and sharp sense of humor that could make the people around her laugh until their stomach hurt. Denise had the gift of making others feel special, just by talking to them. She enjoyed hiking in Red Butte Canyon and walking the Idaho Green Belt with her dogs. Denise was great at creating a cozy and warm environment in every place she lived. She liked preparing nutritious food as well as pies while listening to her favorite songs. Denise had a special connection with animals and volunteered for many years at the local animal shelter. She fostered and found forever homes for numerous dogs. Denise’s compassionate advocacy for the vulnerable will be forever loved and remembered. She is survived by her daughter, grand-daughter, dog, two cats, mother, biological mother, sister, and four brothers.
A graveside gathering will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, June 17, 2021 at Valley View Cemetery, 4335 W 4100 S, West Valley City, Utah.
A celebration of life will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2021 at Tommy Vaughn’s patio, 850 Jensen Grove Drive in Blackfoot, Idaho.
