1955-2018
My loving husband Dennis was born in Pottstown, PA on September 10, 1955 to Howard Lee and Annalene Catharine Himes Greer. After a lifetime of adventures and 21 years of marriage, his heart gave out, and in an instant our lives changed forever.
Dennis loved to travel; on foot, by car or by plane. When he was 20 years old and living in Virginia he decided he wanted to see California and the Pacific Ocean. He took the last $22 he had to his name and started walking and hitchhiking, making his way West. Five days later he was walking in the Pacific. At age 22 he joined the U.S. Army, where he honorably served in Germany as a Combat Engineer. Dennis married Karen Blight on February 19, 1997 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and so began their adventure together.
Dennis was a very unique man, and a true country boy at heart. He loved Bluegrass music, biscuits and gravy and good fried chicken, WWE/WWF Wrestling, the Carolina Panthers, collecting old coins, coffee mugs from his travels, Ford trucks, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Rebel T-Shirts, his rings, his Hank Williams, Jr. hat, everything Harley Davidson, and he especially loved his dogs. Dennis was a quietly religious man, and he believed in the atonement of Christ.
Dennis is preceded in death by his father, Howard, and brothers-in-law Doug Blight, Brian Blight and Les Gordon. Dennis dearly loved and is survived by his mother Annalene, brother John Greer, and sister Carol Blevins. He is also survived by his in-laws, the entire Blight clan: Parley and Elaine Blight, Kathy Gordon, Terry and Lauren Christensen, Vince Blight, Beau and Brenda Gordon, Brett and Kristy Gordon, Starr and Tim Kocherhans, Shane Orton and Ryan Christensen.
Finally, and most significantly, Dennis is survived by his loving wife and life partner, Karen. Goodbye my love, my life, my strength. You will be forever loved and missed.
