Dixie was born on August 12,1938 in Bountiful, Utah to Reg and Lorene Lewis. She lived her early years in a most wonderful small home and loving environment. This happy home included Dixie; her older brother, Richard; her parents; and even her grandparents. Dixie attended Stoker Elementary and Davis High School. She worked on the family farm as a girl. As an adult Dixie worked as a secretary, at GE and American Express.
Dixie met and married Tom Errett, of SLC, the love of her life! They lived mainly in West Valley City. They had two children who were the focus of everything in their lives. First was Monte, who preceded her in death. Next came their daughter, Shari.
Dixie enjoyed life, especially gardening, shopping for clothes, painting ceramics with Shari, mini-vacations on the back roads of Utah, and most of all …grandkids! Each one was so very loved. Dixie and Tom made friends wherever they went - at the gym (which they were faithful about going to) and even at Walmart while enjoying a drink at McDonald's with retiree friends.
All who knew Dixie and Tom became aware of their unusual closeness and total devotion they had for each other. Love endures!
Dixie is survived by her husband Tom; her daughter, Shari Hughes and husband Tad Timmler; and her dear grandchildren.
The family would like to give their heartfelt thanks to Quality Home Health and Hospice. A very special thanks to her nurse, Wendy, and her aide, Maria for their skilled, gentle, loving care. Thank you both so very much!
