“Mr. Incredible”
1944 –2012
Don left this earth on May 22, 2012 after a 14-year battle with cancer. During his 67 years he spent on this side of the veil he showed an incredible amount of love, generosity, compassion and the benefits of a positive attitude to all that knew him. His love of people and caring enabled him to make friends of all those he met.
Don was born in Park City, Utah. He loved sports and was a three-sport letterman at Granger High School. He enjoyed giving back and coached hundreds of boys in little league football, basketball and baseball. Don, his brother Jay, brother-in-law Lou, and Toots Fratto created what many considered to be a Pee Wee Football Dynasty. Don, an avid Utah Ute fan, was a season ticket holder. He loved to fish, hunt and enjoyed competitive trap shooting.
Don was a talented salesman and had an incredible gift of talking to and dealing with people. Along with his career in sales he started and ran a successful landscaping business for 10 years to help teach his kids the value of hard work.
Don shared a fabulous 45-year adventure on this earth with his eternal companion Diane. During this time they raised and educated four children; were active in the LDS faith; and were blessed with 10 grandchildren. They battled and beat Diane’s terminal illness 17 years longer than any expert thought possible. They always remained positive, upbeat and focused on helping others.
After Diane passed away Don was blessed to meet his earthly companion Linda and they shared a great romance over the past four years. Through this marriage Don was blessed with three stepchildren, nine grandchildren, and additional family relationships and cherished memories. Don and Linda were blessed to be temple workers in the Jordan River Temple.
Don is survived by his wife Linda; children, Tammy (Ken), Darren (Carrie), Taunya (Bill); daughter-in-law DeeAnn; stepchildren, Catherine (Troy), Rachel (Craig), Charmaigne (Michael); sisters, Dee, Bonnie (Don), Betty (Brad); 19 grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in–law.
Don is preceded in death by his eternal companion (Diane); son (Anthony) parents (Joe and Erma); and brother (Jay).
