Don graduated from Cyprus High School and immediately joined the Navy. He was honorably discharged in 1963. After serving his country, he returned home and married Gloria Ann Lemon (divorced). Together they had 3 sons and 1 daughter. Don worked at LDS Hospital and then later worked for Tooele Army Depot as a boiler operator. He took an early retirement, and then worked for Huish Detergents for many years. Don enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, fishing and had a great love for animals.
Don married Linda Yvonne Rose Nester in August 6, 1996.
Survived by his wife Linda, and his children Donny (Wendi) Nester, Julie (Burt) Maynes, Johnny (Ketty) Nester, Justin (Kathryn) Hall-Nester; step children Tammy (Michael) Duran, and Steve (Mary) Rose; brother Danny Nester, and sister Darlene Blackburn; many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents Lawrence Clay (Ada) Nester, and Laska (Quis) Johnson, brother Randy Nester, nephew Aaron Nester, step-daughter Shaundele Rose and his dog Bambi.
There will be a viewing on Monday, June 7, 2021 from 7-9:00 pm at Premier Funeral Services, 67 East 8000 South, Midvale, Utah.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at 11:00 am at Valley View Memorial Park, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah with a viewing prior to the graveside service at Premier Funeral Services from 9-10:30 am.
Our family would like to thank the staff at Rocky Mountain Hospice who helped take great care of Don. In lieu of flowers, spend a day fishing with your loved ones.
