Our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away peacefully on June 22, 2016 in West Valley City, Utah. He was born on January 24, 1937 in Junction City, Kansas to Cecil Hurst and Dorothy Eldora Carpenter. He married his loving sweetheart, Anne Mefford Carpenter on January 21, 1966 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Don retired from US West in 1990 and later worked for Intermountain Christian School. He was a member of the Great Salt Lake Woodcarvers Club. Don loved spending time with his family especially his grandson, Jayden.
He is survived by his loving wife, Anne; children, Jeff (Chris), Mike and Steve Carpenter; grandsons, Marcus Holt and Jayden Carpenter; brothers, Karl, Kerry (Diana), Keith (Lynda) Carpenter.
A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 10:00 am at the Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 West 4100 South. Following the graveside service a memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church of West Valley, 3831 South 2700 West, beginning at 11:00 am.
