Donald Eugene Combs

1932 ~ 2011

Donald Eugene Combs, age 78, passed away May 28, 2011 in Kearns, Utah.

Don was born October 10, 1932 in Heyburn, Idaho to Cullen Combs and Lola Breezee Combs. He was married to Carol Christensen (deceased). He then married Dorthea Christensen, they divorced later. He found the love of his life, Clea Thornton, and they married on October 28, 1977 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was a friend to everyone. He enjoyed traveling, working in his woodshop, snowmobiling and the outdoors. He was a camp ground manager for many years. He was in the Excavating Business, and he enjoyed working with the development at Brighton Estates. He retired from Kennecott. He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Donald was a Temple worker. He loved all animals, especially his two dogs, Trixie and Nicky.

He is survived by his loving wife, Clea; brother, Gerry; children, Shauna (Kim), Brent (Kathy), Brenda, Susan (Tom), Steve (Sandra), Chris, Kevin (Alison), Ramona (Marvin), Brenda (A.T), Kathy (Glen), Todd (Teresa) and Julie (Guy); 34 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild.

Funeral Services will be held for Donald on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kearns Stake Center located at 5905 South 4000 West. The family will receive friends at a visitation Wednesday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the Church.
