The world lost a legend on November 11th, 2023. Donna Violet Munsee was an amazing Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend, and was a force to be reckoned with. She was born November 5, 1931, in Salt Lake City, Utah. When Donna was a young girl, she enjoyed riding horses, ice skating on the frozen ponds, and attending the church roadshows. She married Gary D Pilcher at a young age while attending West High school. She later divorced and married Alvin Munsee to whom helped her remodel and make her little white home in Salt Lake a bigger, better home to raise up all of her children.
She was full of grit, swear words, good cooking, common sense, and a giving nature. She was a "Swapmeet Queen" and a rare breed. Donna was one of the hardest working women you ever met, she had many hats, but she really took pride in the work she did with Kennecott Copper. At Donna's home you were always welcomed with a cup of coffee, and a hot meal, and you never left empty handed. Her generosity was beyond measure. She loved her children with all her heart and treated her nieces and nephews as her own. You could always count on her to tell you a funny story, or a "saying" to use the rest of your life.
We are proud to know we came from her and she will be missed. We know there is one "Helluvah" reunion going on in Heaven right now with her cherished daughter Jolynn, son in-laws Charlie and Kim, Her mother Sarah and Father Nicholas, Her second husband Munsee, brothers, sisters, and dear friends. We see them sitting around an old wood table telling stories and drinking coffee. Donna loved quilt making, making porcelain dolls, collecting Hummels, animals, sweet things, German cooking, jewelry and her family. Donna has 26 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren which all have been given her strong spirit to carry on.
Survived by Shauna Pilcher, Sharleen Burningham, Jan Langford, David Pilcher, Mary Sue Morelli, Joe Bill Pilcher, Dempsey Pilcher, Tommy Pilcher and her youngest sister JoAnn Escher.
Preceded in death to Betty "Jolynn" Black, Alvin Munsee, Charlie Pilcher, Kim Morelli, Sarah Koller & Nicholas Sturzenegger, and her cherished brothers and sisters.
She was never flashy, she was smart, feisty, resourceful, and she will be missed with all of our Hearts...
