Our loving mother, grandmother and friend, Elizabeth Ann Chidester Lake, 78, left this earthly plane on March 7, 2022 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born on February 8, 1944 in Lehi, Utah to James Orville and Sarah Beth Chidester. She married Arthur A. Lake on January 6, 1962 in Elko, Nevada.
Elizabeth loved to draw, crochet and read. She enjoyed her children and grandchildren. She loved to tell stories of her childhood while living in Southern Utah going rock hunting with her dad. Her dad called her "my little Pebble Pup" and would fill her pockets with rocks and tell her it was so “she wouldn’t blow away.”
She loved growing up in Utah and couldn’t wait to return home after Arthur retired from the Navy. She missed seeing her friends and family while she was living away in California.
Elizabeth loved being creative and always had the house filled with her “projects.” Christmas was her favorite time to crochet angels, covering herself and the house in glitter. She also loved to draw small pictures for family, staff and other residents in the nursing home. She is finally pain free and able to walk again in heaven. She will be missed.
Elizabeth is survived by her sons, Greg, James and Sean; daughters, Terry, Jamie, Sarah and honorary daughter, Pam; sister, Helen; 16 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Beth; husband, Arthur; children, Kattie, Jeff; grandchildren, Elly, Alex, Nathaniel.
Graveside services for Elizabeth will be held on Monday, March 14, 2022 at 1:00pm at the Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 West 4100 South in West Valley City. A celebration of life will be held at the Jordan North 1st Ward, 3900 South 4000 West following the graveside service beginning at 2:30 pm.
