

Ercell Jean (Schroeder) Gailey passed away peacefully in her hometown of West Valley City, Utah, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. A true angel, Ercell has reunited with her husband, Floyd.
Ercell was born on July 1, 1939, to John Henry Schroeder Sr. and Carmen Ercell (Carver) Schroeder. She married the love of her life, Floyd Wayne Gailey Sr., on August 24, 1956. They were sealed for time and eternity on June 15, 1970, in the Salt Lake City Temple, along with their five children. Floyd and Ercell raised five wonderful children, 25 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Ercell proudly served in many church callings within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was a service missionary to the Cambodian ward and a dedicated librarian in her home ward. She loved the Lord dearly and enjoyed spending time in the temple whenever she could. Ercell always had a giving heart and was a listening ear to anyone in need. She would open her heart and home to everyone in her life, ensuring her loved ones were well-fed and taken care of. Everyone was always welcome in her home and at her dinner table. Her family was her greatest love, and family was everything to Ercell. She was a wonderful, gentle, loving, and caring mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend.
Ercell is survived by her five children: Wayne (Torie) Gailey, Mike (Gay) Gailey, Gene (Barbara) Gailey, Zina (Victor) Parry, and Sue (Bill) Boyd; 21 grandchildren; all her great-grandchildren; and her great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and four grandchildren: Alex, Nick, Andy, and Thomas.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Valley View Memorial Park and Funeral Home, a viewing for family and friends will be held on Sunday, August 4, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home at 4335 W. 4100 S. West Valley City, UT. 84120.
A funeral Service to honor and celebrate the life of Ercell Jean Gailey will be held on Monday, August 5th, 2024, at noon, with a Viewing at 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 3372 S. Merry Ln. West Valley City, UT. 84120.
Interment will take place immediately following the funeral services at Valley View Memorial Park, 4335 W. 4100 S. West Valley City, UT. 84120.
