He was born on June 16, 1978, to Ronald M Wood Jr. and Sandra Wood. Eric came into this world full of love and kindness. He is a blessing to his family and his family meant everything to him. Eric has a big heart and the ability to love unconditionally.
Like his older brother, Eric developed a love of the outdoors at an early age. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time outdoors with his dad, family, and friends. Eric loved the outdoors so much that he would spend nights sitting by a campfire in his backyard and every morning sitting on the backyard deck with his dad drinking coffee and talking as they slowly got their days started.
At the age of five Eric was diagnosed with epilepsy. His epilepsy was debilitating, and he endured two different brain surgeries with the hope of easing his seizures. He had many struggles throughout his life with his health. Eric had his moments of anger and sadness with the card’s life dealt, but he never gave up. He loved life, he loved his family, he loved his friends, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Eric considered himself a professional poker player and we as a family have enjoyed many games throughout our lives playing cards and laughing with and at each other as our “professional poker player” and others would lose. Playing cards is something that Eric has always enjoyed and something we will continue to do, and we do not doubt that he will always be there in spirit.
We are saddened by Eric’s sudden death but take comfort in knowing that he has been reunited with his older brother, Marc who passed five years ago. Eric's broken heart never healed after his brother’s passing and Heaven better take heed because the Wood boys are together again!
Eric’s greatest blessings, pride, and joy came in the form of two angels. His daughters, McKenna, and Savannah. They are his everything. He loved spending time with them. He and his girls spent their weekends together playing games, shopping, and binge-watching TV shows and movies. Poker was their favorite game and Alexa was never far, playing their favorite tunes.
Two years ago, Eric received a special gift. This gift came in the form of his first grandchild, Braylon. Eric’s last day on earth was spent with those he loved most celebrating little Braylon’s 2nd birthday. What a blessing that is for all of us.
Eric is survived by his two beautiful daughters, McKenna and Savannah, grandson, Braylon, parents, Ron & Sandy Wood, Sisters: Sonja Kenison, Misty (Tom) Adolphson, Melissa Josie, twelve nieces and nephews and three great nieces.
He is preceded in death by his best friend and brother, Marc, Grandma Wheaton, Grandma and Grandpa Wood, and Grandpa Taylor.
