Evelyn Louise Koch Ekstrand

Evelyn Louise Koch Ekstrand, age 90, of Salt Lake City, Utah passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2024. Evelyn was born to Bertha Wilsterman Koch and Ernest Koch in Sanborn, Minnesota. She married Jerome Ekstrand in Sanborn Minnesota in 1956 until his passing in 1984. Evelyn later married Hans Keutel in Murray, Utah in 1991.

Evelyn was a devoted elementary school teacher, teaching 6th grade for 37 years. After retiring she still showed her devotion to teaching others: she then taught bridge at the Olympus Cove retirement center. Aside from her love of teaching, she also enjoyed, sewing, quilting, and gardening, and loved to travel the world.

Evelyn is survived by her daughter Karen Lee (Ekstrand) Draney; her son Arthur Ernest Ekstrand, and 1 grandchild.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her first husband Jerome Ekstrand; her second husband Hans Keutel; her father Ernest Koch and her mother Bertha Wilsterman Koch, as well as many siblings and friends.

A graveside service for Evelyn will be held Monday, November 11, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah 84120.

Evelyn will be laid to rest in Valley View Memorial Park ~ Maple Garden, 4400 West 4100 South, West Valley City, UT.
