Francis J Grossaint

Born on Monday the 17th of November 1941 in Lapoint, UT, Francis Ella Justice Grossaint died peacefully in her sleep on Monday, March 4th 2024 in West Jordan, Utah.

Fran has joined her parents, Ollie and Ella Justice, and her 11 siblings with the Lord at the tender age of 82. As the last of her family to be born, so is she the last to rejoin them.

Fran graduated Union High School in Roosevelt, Utah in 1960 before spending two years at Snow College working towards a teaching degree. While on a break from this endeavor, she married and began to start her own family. During this time, she began substitute teaching and learned that was not the right path for her. However, the “traditional housewife” role did not suite Fran and she began to look for something more. She worked for 3 companies after that, eventually landing on her role as the Business Manager for a satellite communication company where she worked for more than 20 years before retiring in 2019. Fran knew it was the perfect fit for her. This position allowed her to go back to school, earning multiple associates and a bachelor’s degree.

Fran loved to take care of her family, which extended to not only her biological children, but her step children and their families as well. Her favorite role was that as a mother and grandmother. You could find her on the sidelines of every football, softball, or baseball game and front row at every dance recital. Nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She derived the purest happiness from cooking for her family, snuggling with her grandbabies, and seeing those around her doing something they loved.

We couldn’t have asked for a better mother, grandmother, and friend, and we will miss her every day. Fran’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. Whenever you see an eagle or hawk in the sky, you can be sure it is Fran watching over those she loved.

Fran is survived by her two children: Jeff Grossaint (Sons Connor and Jace, Daughters Alexis and Jayna) and DeVon Grossaint (Wife Melanie and Sons Colton and Keaton); as well as her daughter in law Sharlette, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends who cherished her.

Visitation will be held at Valley View Funeral Home on Sunday, March 10th from 5-7pm and Monday, March 11th from 1-2pm. Services will be held on Monday, March 11th at 2pm.
