Gilbert Lawrence Camomile, age 88, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2018 in West Valley City surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 19, 1929 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Lawrence and Jane Peck Camomile. He graduated from West High School in 1947.
Dad grew up in Salt Lake City and started working at a very young age at Western Airlines as a dishwasher. After various jobs he retired with SLC Corp Sanitation Dept. as well as SLC Water Dept. He married the love of his life on September 16, 1950. He passed just shy of them celebrating their 68th wedding anniversary. Dad always bragged about having five children by the time Mom was 21. Dad loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and camping with family and friends. Dad, take Dan’s hand and fly high with the angels. We love you.
Gilbert is survived by his wife, Marilyn Camomile; children, Dan (Kathy) Camomile, Sue (Bob) McGuire, Kerry (Tina) Camomile, Sherri (Guy) Perkins, and Tom Camomile; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Julie McCray. He is preceded in death by parents, Lawrence and Jane Camomile; sister, Lucille Briggs; brother, Lynn Camomile and son, Dan Camomile.
Special thanks to the family members who provided Ma and Pa with all their needs.
