

Glenn W Furrow 10/27/1926~11/29/2010 Glenn passed away in his sleep Monday morning with his arm around Hazel, his sweetheart and wife of 62 years.Born in Garfield, Utah to Nile Warren and Thelma Mae Jones Furrow, he married his eternal companion Hazel Isabell Speirs April 25th 1948. Glenn was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in many capacities. Employed by Kennecott for 42 years, he was a true master craftsman with a degree in Applied Science, Glenn was respected by all who knew of his work ethic and ingenuity. He served his Country proudly in the Navy in World War II. Glenn was an Environmentalist before it was popular and taught his children to appreciate nature; Glenn always put his family first. He was an avid Hunter, Fly-fisherman, and Archer. His wonderful ability to paint the scenes of his experiences through storytelling was captivating to all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife Hazel and children Glenna Hatsis (George), Jim (Julie), Wendy Davis (Herb), Stan (Shiela), Valerie Carter (Chip), 27 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, sister Gloria, brother Howard (Betty) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Nyleene, and grandson Nile. Glenn's family will be gathering to greet friends from 6 p.m. -8 p.m. Friday, December 3rd at the Valley View Memorial Funeral Home, 4335 W. 4100 S., West Valley City. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 4th, 2010 with a viewing from 11 a.m. -11:45 a.m., Funeral begins Noon in the Bennion Stake Center, 6250 S. 2200 W. His courage and fortitude has been a great example to us all, he will be greatly missed.
