Our fun-loving, special little Shane passed away at home January 17, 2019, after a brave and relentless battle with cancer.
Shane was born September 19, 1979, to Lauren B. Orton Christensen. He was blessed at the age of 4 with the best stepfather that anyone could ever ask for, Terry B. Christensen. At the age of 7, he was again blessed with a loving and caring brother, Ryan Christensen.
Anyone who had the opportunity to meet Shane was left a better person. He enjoyed the simple things in life: Family, love, kindness, patience, music, toys, dancing, friends, candy, Santa Claus, The Easter Bunny, The Lion King, dropping pennies into his bank and his butterfly ball.
Shane graduated from the Utah School for the Deaf and the Blind, and then attended the day program at Chrysalis Activity Center. Thank you to everyone who ever had a part in helping him thrive above any limitations. (You know who you are.)
Shane was truly one of a kind. He endured many obstacles in his life and taught us what the words "True Grit" really mean.
Shane is survived by his parents and his brother, who will miss him more than we can imagine. He is also survived by his grandmother, Elaine Blight, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at Valley View Memorial Park, 4335 W. 4100 So. in West Valley City, Utah.
In lieu of flowers, please do a random kind act for a disabled or elderly person.
Goodbye, my son, save me a butterfly … Love, Mom
