Hale Huckabay

Hale Douglas Huckabay, “PawPaw”, was called home to his Father in Heaven on the morning of July 31, 2016. He passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family in West Jordan, UT. He was born October 18, 1935 in Houston, Texas to Jewel Vitas Crow and George Gladys Huckabay.

He married his sweetheart, Virginia Louella Wright, on April 18, 1953 in Daisetta, TX. Hale and Virginia were later sealed for time and all eternity on April 17, 1979 in the Salt Lake City Temple.

Hale was a remarkably patient and devoted husband. He loved to fish, was an amazing artist, loved being around family and telling stories of the past. He never passed up the chance to devour sweets…especially banana pudding and homemade vanilla ice cream!

He is preceded in death by his son, Caleb Dane Huckabay, his parents, brother John L Heck, and sister Jerry Ann Huckabay.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia “Mimi”, sister Halma Lee Ivy, daughter Margaret Ann, son Denton, 5 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Services will be held at the LDS Church (6270 W. 7000 So. in West Jordan, UT) on Friday August 5, 2016 at 11:00 am. A viewing will be held the same day one hour prior to services. Burial will be immediately following at Valley View Cemetery (4335 W. 4100 So. in West Valley City, UT.)
