Hana Derden

You may be gone from our sight, but you are never gone from our heart.

Hana Derden 35, passed away on March 10, 2023 with her parents by her side.

Hana recently found out she was battling health issues; with that we saw the courage she had to

face life’s challenges to always be there and show strength for her “Tiny” no matter how she was

feeling. Tiny is Hana’s Niece, her light, her love, her reasoning.

Hana was born December 6, 1987, to her parents Hakija and Gordana Derviskadic in Dubrovnik,

Croatia. She lived there until the age of 9, when they moved to West Valley City, Utah in September

1997 where she grew up and graduated from Kearns High School in 2006.

Hana was always the light in the room, the smartest in the room and the kindest human.

She loved to attend concerts, listen to music and loved being with her friends and in this mix is

where she met Matt Perea in 2005, they became good friends and made their relationship official on

November 2, 2012. They adored each other and loved each other so dearly, they were each other’s

rock in so many ways.

Hana instantly became part of the family to the Perea’s, where she helped raise Matt’s Niece &

Nephew Aiden and Kaya Perea from a young age. Hana always said that she wasn’t too sure about

children at the time- but quickly fell in love and was the best Aunt anyone could ask for.

Matt and Hana’s relationship brought their two families together to form a family of one.

Hana was special, one in a million and she will be deeply missed.

Hana is survived by her Parents Hakija and Gordana Derviskadic, brother David Derviskadic and

her nieces and nephew Davina “Tiny” Derviskadic, Kaya and Aiden Perea, the love of her life Matt

Perea, The Kljajic Family; Vladimir, Olivera, Leonela, Mihael, Pero, The Ribic Family; Stijepan, Vesna,

Leona, Gloria, Zeljko, Ozren, The Derviskadic Family; Jagoda, Ziza, Arman, Asja, The Skornaja

Family; Hasan, Marijana, Asja, The Bekavac Family; Morena, Boranka, Aunts; Tijana and Tamara

Canic, The Perea Family, Long time friends and loved ones from Dubrovnik, Sarajevo, Belgrade,

Rome, London, France, Las Vegas, Utah and many more across the globe.

Services will be held Saturday March 25, 2023 at Valley View Memorial Park and Funeral Home

4335 West 4100 South West Valley City, Utah 84120 at 11:00am – 2:00pm following a light luncheon and

celebration of life gathering from 4:00pm – 8:00pm at 4910 West Amelia Earhart Dr. #3, Salt Lake City,

Utah 84116.
