Harold Everett Chitwood, 81, passed away on September 29, 2020 in West Valley City, Utah. He was born on September 4, 1939 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Otis and Lillian Chitwood. He later married Carolyn Cain on May 28, 1966 in Salt lake City, Utah.
In his younger years, Harold enjoyed camping, fishing and rock hounding. As he became a little older he loved to work on his motorhome, travel, trips to Wendover and relaxing in the sun with his friends and family. He always stayed active and busy. He was the strongest man ever. Even when he wasn’t feeling well he would always say, “I’m fantastic!” Harold was humble and always so positive. We could only wish to be as amazing. Up until his final moments, Harold was still cracking jokes. So if you are asking if he had a good life, “You Betcha!”
Harold is survived by his daughters, Laura Cain and Robin Jones; 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Lee Chitwood.
Graveside services for Harold will be held on Monday, October 5, 2020 at 11:00am at the valley View Memorial Park, 4400 West 4100 South in West Valley City, Utah.
