

Hoang That Ton, 81, passed away at home on October 15, 2025. Hoang is survived by his loving wife, Phuong, and two children, Mai and Han. Born in Quy Nhon, Vietnam in 1943, Hoang endured a difficult life filled with extreme hardships including malnutrition, early loss of parent and child, civil war, and hard labor. Despite these challenges, he showed incredible perseverance and overcame all of life’s obstacles to build a life in America, create a loving family and live a long life. He was extremely proud of his military service and loved and defended democracy to his last days. To his family, his mental fortitude, resilience, and true grit defined his character and shaped the lives of those he loved. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Funeral services will be held at Valley View Funeral Home 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah. There will be a viewing on Friday, October 31 from 10am to 12pm. Please see below for a complete program of the funeral services.
