Isaac James Winder passed away November 10, 2014, in Changchun, China, where he was living with his wife Candalyn, a teacher at Changchun American International School, and their daughter Adair June Winder, age 2. Isaac was born December 8, 1985 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Kent Layton and Sherri Adair Jepson Winder. Isaac graduated from Hunter High School and attended Western Wyoming Community College where he studied musical theater.
Isaac married his childhood sweetheart, Candalyn Kay Marble, on December 19, 2006. He successfully managed numerous physical and mental health challenges in his life and took great joy from his role as a stay at home parent. Isaac was a humble man without guile, a loyal friend, and had a remarkable character of kindness. Isaac’s playfulness and flair for theater made him a favorite of nieces, nephews, and cousins. His spirit found deep peace in the mountains, wonder in the starlit skies, and curiosity in the mysteries of life. He was an avid hiker and Eagle Scout. Well-traveled, well-read, and with an eclectic taste in movies and music, Isaac was always fond of an adventure; and was fittingly enjoying the excitement of life in China in his final months.
He is survived by his wife Candalyn, daughter Adair; father and step-mother Kent and Suzy Winder; siblings Aimee (Matt) Newton, Mike (Karyn) Winder, Tami (Tom) Larsen, and Nathan Winder; parents-in-law Jeff and Lisa Marble; in-law-siblings Jeff Marble, Lauria (Justin) Howell, Rochelle Marble, and Jens Marble, and step-siblings Travis (Natalie) Hathcock and Caleb Hathcock. He was preceded in death by his mother Sherri Winder, and grandfathers James Wendell Adair and Ned Winder.
