It is with heavy sadness that we announce the passing of Jack Ledford on September 30th 2014, in Murray, Utah at Intermountain Medical Center surrounded by close family after losing his battle with lung cancer.
Jack was born in SLC, Utah on February 10, 1948. Jack served during the Vietnam Campaign in the United States Army as an Airborne Infantryman Fire Crewman. He spent most of his younger years as an OTR Long Haul Truck Driver. He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. He was truly the 'Jack of all trades'. Above all, he was a wonderful husband, an amazing daddy, and loving grandpa, brother, uncle, son, and friend.
He was one of the most giving and loving people you could have ever known. He was a very forward person as well and would tell you exactly what he thought even if it wasn't something you wanted to hear. But that made him who he was.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary, daughters Deanna (Kevin) of Ogden, Vicky (Chris) of Ogden, Tonya, Wanda and Melody, as well as one son, Aaron (Stacey) of West Valley, 21 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. His mother, Alta LaVerne, brothers Wayne, Wally, Richard, and one sister, Grace, as well as additional siblings in Washington. Also nieces and nephews that adored him.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jack Ledford Sr., and his beautiful daughter, Teresa Marie.
The viewing will be held at Valley View Funeral Home in West Valley, UT on Friday, October 3rd, 2014 at 6-8pm, and again on Saturday, October 4th, 2014 from 11-11:45am. The funeral will be held on Saturday, October 4th, 2014 at 12pm.
