Jacqueline Okey Mortensen

Jaqueline "Jackie" Okey Mortensen, born on June 6, 1930, to John Edwin Okey and Birdie Leila Chase, peacefully passed away on November 16, 2023. She leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth that touched the lives of all who knew her.

Jackie was a devoted wife to Jay Allen, with whom she shared the joys of parenthood, raising three children: Steve, Pam, and Jeff and enjoyed being a homemaker. After facing the loss of Jay, she later met her sweetheart, Kim Mortensen, in 1979. They married on November 23, 2009, in Provo, Utah. Together, they embarked on an adventure moving from Magna to Clover, Utah. After Kim retired, they enjoyed a beautiful retirement journey to Mona, Utah, savoring the delights of being snowbirds and escaping to warmer weather in Overton, NV, during the winter months.

Jackie's hands were skilled in crafting love, as she enjoyed crocheting gifts for her cherished family and friends. She loved watching westerns, finding solace and joy in the stories they told.

She is survived by her children Pam and Jeff, her grandchildren Kasie, Trish, Melissa, Ashley, Stephanie, Zane, and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, first husband Jay Allen, son Steve Allen, second husband Kim Mortensen, daughter-in-law Jody Allen, and grandchildren Ryan Allen and Stacey Allen. Even though she is no longer with us, her memory and love will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved her.

Jackie's life will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 28th, 2023 at Valley View Memorial Park & Funeral Home, located at 4335 W 4100 S, West Valley City, Utah 84120. The viewing will take place at 1:00 PM and a short graveside service and dedication will occur at 2:00 PM.
