Janet Rigby Walters

She met and married the love of her life Lewis Walters of Orem, Utah. They married on November 23, 1962 in Springville, Utah. They have two girls: Mary Dene (David) Potter of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Wendy Lee (Michael) Groves of Tooele, Utah.

She was the honorary mother of the children of Roy and Loraine Bartell, after Loraine’s passing. Norm (Rose) of Fruitland, Utah; Kris (Randy) Farrimond of West Valley City, Utah; Jennie of Duluth, Georgia, Paul (Connie) of West Valley City and Tammy (Neel) Colton of Lehi, Utah.

Grandmother to six and great grandmother to nine. And by choice of love the grandmother and great grandmother to an additional 32.

Mom was raised in Springville, Utah with three siblings, Dean, Bruce and Betty. There were many aunts, uncles and cousins nearby to play with. She graduated from Springville High School and attended Snow College in Ephraim, Utah. She was a loving wife and mother. She was a stay-at-home mother, until the girls got older. She then worked as a textile cutter for LeVoys. She loved to sew and make quilts, a skill she learned from her mother. Mom loved to camp and be outdoors. She was a faithful and true member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served for many years as the Ward Librarian. Her ward was filled with family and friends and was where she went to find peace and comfort when she was able. She was preceded in death by her dad, mom and youngest brother.

Services will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 10:30am. This will be for immediate family only (due to local restrictions). The viewing will be Saturday morning at 9:00am and interment at 11:30am at Valley View Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah
