John Michael Robbins

John Michael Robbins, a beloved son, husband, father, and faithful servant of the Lord, peacefully returned to his heavenly home on August 5th 2026, following a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.

John was born on April 26, 1950, in Pioche, Nevada, to his loving parents John A. and Frances E. Robbins. Raised in a home built on faith and hard work, he carried those values throughout his life, being a friend to everyone he met and touching the hearts of all who knew him.

A dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, John loved the gospel and lived his life with a deep testimony of his Savior, Jesus Christ. He served faithfully in his church callings and found immense joy in ministering to others, especially while serving as ward mission leader. Even as his illness progressed, the gentle, kind, and faithful spirit that defined his life continued to shine through. His family takes great comfort in the eternal truth of the Plan of Salvation, knowing he has been released from his earthly trials and is joyfully reunited with his parents, daughter Ashtyn and other loved ones beyond the veil.

Outside of his faith, John was a passionate sports fan who loved the thrill of competition and the camaraderie of the game. Whether he was out on the course playing golf, framing a perfect strike at the bowling alley, or playing baseball and basketball, he brought passion and energy to everything he did. He was a devoted, lifelong fan of the San Francisco Giants, 49ers, BYU Cougars and the Utah Jazz, rarely missing a chance to watch or attend a game. Above all, his absolute favorite sporting events to attend were those of his children and grandchildren. He was always their biggest cheerleader, bursting with pride from the sidelines or the bleachers.

He is survived by his wife Trina Robbins, children, Brandon (Nicole), Erin (Chet) Woodbury, Kellen (Melissa), eleven grandchildren, sister Jill (Del) Pursel and many other loved ones who will miss his warmth, guidance, and steady faith.

A funeral service celebrating John's life and faith will be held on August 14, 2026 at 11:00am at the Glenmoore 2nd ward building 9455 S 4800 W South Jordan, Utah 84009.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the caregivers and medical professionals at Canyon Homecare and Hospice who provided such compassionate care to John during his final days of his illness.
