He loved watching BYU football and basketball games on television and enjoying camping with his family and he enjoyed his 3 Grandchildren. He was a great handyman and woodworker. He was stubborn and still willing to serve others. Worked at Salt Lake Community College for 7 years and Murray City Parks and Recreation Department for over 23 years. He served an LDS Mission to Pennsylvania and Arizona. While in Arizona He stayed with the people of the Navajo Nation. And he didn’t like to be called Joe.
He is preceded in death by his parents Lois and Alvin Broadbent, sister Marsha Herrera, and Brother Steve Broadbent.
He is survived by his wife for over 50 yrs Virginia Broadbent married in the Provo Temple and 4 children; Melissa, Todd, Kris, (Mark) Fischer, and Annie, (Jay) Patterson, and grandchildren Schyler, Harbor and Zenith whom he loved them very much. As well as many nieces and nephews, and his sisters, Sharan Stults, Debbie Darling, Mary Buxton, Becky Day, Diane Adams.
Viewing will take place on Thursday March 27, 2025 @ Valley View Funeral Home 4335 W 4100 S from 6-8 p.m. and 1 hr. prior and the little service LDS Church house 11:00 a.m. @ 4444 Early Duke St and a graveside service @ 12:30 p.m. @ Valley View Memorial Park
