Jodee was born in San Francisco and raised in South San Francisco where she attended school before relocating to West Valley City, Utah. She is survived by her children Jonathan (DIL Alyssa) and Jenavee (Marcus) and her nephew Dumar and was extremely sad to leave her children and family behind but was comforted knowing she would join her parents and niece on the other side of the veil. She was very excited to know that she will see her grandson Zion before his entrance here on earth.
Mother, daughter, sister, aunty and excited to-be new grandmother. Jodee showed amazing strength as she lived her last days much longer than anticipated. She was surrounded by the loving support of her family both near and far; she loved the well wishes, cards, flowers, chocolate covered strawberries, and even a ham sent to enjoy with family. Her favorite treats sent FedEx from Uncle Vai in Hawaii included pake cake, ulu and poke. Most strongly felt were every single prayer on her behalf.
Jodee was a character and spelt her name wrong and loved the Oakland Raiders only because the rest of her family are 49er faithfuls. She said things like “it is what it is” and “action speaks louder than words”. If you said ‘don’t eat that’ she would eat it, or ‘don’t sit there’ she would sit there. A rebel she was. She enjoyed Bingo and gossiping, but hanging out with her family and friends was her absolute favorite thing. Her nurse Darian (whom we are so grateful for) diagnosed her with FOMO (fear of missing out).
A service will be held on her behalf at Valley View Funeral Home in West Valley City, Utah at 2 PM on Saturday, 9/11/21. We invite those close to our family to join us and we ask that if unvaccinated to please wear a mask to protect our children and those who are most susceptible to the virus. Jodee cared and asked that we be safe.
