Our beloved, wife, sister, mother, & grandmother Judy Carol Angell Marsh, age 73, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on September 13, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. Mom was born in Magna, Utah on November 16, 1939 to Charles Edgar III & Edna Rae Angell. After high school she had a summer banking job in Moab where she met her sweetheart Franklin A. Marsh at a young adult ward. After that summer, she returned home to Magna and in a love letter to her sweetheart, wrote that she would give 2 cents to spend her vacation in Moab to be with him. He replied with his own love letter which contained the 2 cents. Three months later on December 8, 1961, they were sealed in the Salt Lake City temple for time and all eternity. During their 51 years of marriage she had three daughters and three sons whom she loved and adored.
She dedicated her life to serving her family, friends, and those in need. She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she served in numerous capacities including time as a SLC intercity missionary; a temple worker in the SLC, Jordan River and Bismark temples; a young women leader in Special Needs mutual; a couples missionary in the Rapid City, South Dakota Mission; and a children’s tutor at her local elementary and middle school. She had a strong testimony and was a great example to her children and grandchildren. Many times she opened her home to needy families and foster children, providing them with a loving and caring environment until they could find homes of their own. She was a great friend to many people and was especially fond of the members of the Red Hat Society which included friends that she had since kindergarten. Her hobbies included crocheting hats, scarves, and mittens for family, drawing, reading, and writing poems.
She is survived by her husband Frank; daughters Marilee (Rogelio) Mendiola, Cindy Griffin, and Kathy (George) Chavez; sons Michael (Janna) Marsh, David (Dianna) Marsh, and John (Heidi) Marsh; sisters Gloria (Gary) VanHorn, Ruth (Don) Potter, and Christine Angell; brother Charles Edgar IV “Ted” (Sharon) Angell; and 24 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
