Karen Jean Porter

Karen was born March 4, 1952 in Salt Lake City, Utah Robert Jones Barney and Edna Lehman Bearnson. She graduated from Cyprus High. She married Allen Glenn Porter on May 8, 2001 in Salt Lake City. She was a member of the L.D.S. Church. She enjoyed camping, fishing, computer games, crocheting, puzzles, reading, spending time with her husband watching movies, and time with her 2 dogs, Taffy and Little Bit.

Karen is survived by her loving husband, Allen; children, Christopher Stephenson, Angela Stephenson, David G. Porter, Lori Rae Shaw and Amanda Wayman; mother, Edna Lehman Bearnson; siblings, Robert A. Barney and Cindy Suazo; 16 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her father, Robert Barney; brother, Verl Barney; grandparents, Ernest (Lucille) Lehman, and Orval (Elizabeth) Barney; step-fathers, Leo Stapley and Marion Bearnson.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 2, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
