Kerry Noel Torgerson

Kerry Noel Torgerson, sweet father, husband, brother and son, passed away from the effects of heart and stroke disease on August 19, 2015. Born on May 24, 1958, to Howard and Elaine Torgerson. Kerry had a happy childhood with siblings Karen, Kent, Kathy and Kory and has considered them his closest friends throughout his entire life, along with his mom.

Married in the Salt Lake Temple to Kaylene Newell for 35 years, and together had five wonderful children - Jason (Traci), Tyson (Lindsee), Holly (Steve), Brady (Stephanie) and Megan (Taylor). Kerry loved his kids more than anything on earth and enjoyed each moment he had with them, whether it was camping, playing ball, coaching, watching them sing and dance, sitting with them at church, taking them to jazz games or watching the Utes. He loved raising his kids. He was so proud of them. Kerry had 6 grandkids and loved and enjoyed spending time with them always.

Kerry was great at basketball in his younger years - even winning a 3 point contest in front of a packed arena of Jazz fans. He was an avid fan of the Utah Jazz and the Utes, enjoying lots of time with his mom, siblings and kids at those games. He enjoyed camping and heading out to Wendover occasionally. He loved being home with his family. Kerry had a tender heart. He was such a kind and caring man - always concerned for others. We will truly miss him, but know he is at peace with no more pain and suffering, and has now had a joyous reunion with his dad. We will see you again soon.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at 11:00 am, at the Welby 4th Ward building, 9376 South 4000 West, West Jordan, Utah. There will be a viewing held on Wednesday evening from 6-8pm at the Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley, Utah, and also an hour before the services on Thursday at the church. Burial will take place after funeral services at the Valley View Cemetery.
