Bessie Larae Hoggard Bessie Larae Hoggard age 82 passed away peacefully on January 15, 2023 at her home. Mom was born December 7, 1940 in Roosevelt, Utah to Bessie May Long and John Orson Winn. Mom attended Provo High School and after graduation she joined the Givan Ford team in Provo where she met and married Norman Hoggard September 16th 1962. Together they had two children Lonnie and Lorrie. Our parents were later divorced and mom never remarried. For more than 42 years mom worked for Williamsons Truck Equipment and Tesco Williamsons Truck Equipment. She enjoyed her work and the friendships she made there retiring in 2008. Mom worked extremely hard to provide for our family teaching us how to be hardworking, dependable, and reliable. Mom had a few great loves, her family, sweets, and the LA Dodgers. Mom loved and cherished her five grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. Mom loved family get togethers whether they were small or large she always said “I love you the mostest” when leaving after a visit. She cherished any time spent with family including lunch at her favorite restaurant Garcia’s and trips to Wendover. As her health began to decline, she missed being able to attend many of these gatherings. Mom took as many trips as she could to visit her beloved Dodgers on the hallowed ground of Chavez Ravine but she also loved watching the Dodgers and the Utah Jazz games on television. Mom loved sweets. Pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, jelly beans, Reese’s peanut butter cups, and golden Oreos were among her favorites. Mom is survived by her two children Lonnie (Ellen) Hoggard and Lorrie (Daniel) Jones. Her grandchildren Jen (Kyle), Tony (Kristi), Curtis, Tina (Jeremy), and Chris. She was blessed with 13 great grandchildren. Mom was survived as well by her loving sisters Janet Howcroft and Sheila Brannon. Mom was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Norm, Larry, Albert, Rick and sister Carol. Mom requested no funeral services and to keep things simple. Per her wishes we will have a Celebration of Life for her in the near future.
