Larry was preceded in death by his parents and older brother, James Clasby. He is survived by his siblings, Liz Wing, Clay Clasby, and Darla (Driss) Cherkaoui, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
If you ever drove down 3100 South in West Valley City, Utah, you may have seen Larry with his large Holiday Oil mug, on his way to refill it with his favorite drink, Diet Coke.
Larry was a gentle, kind soul who knew he was loved by his friends and family. He could start a conversation with anyone. Larry loved sports, especially the Utah Jazz, NASCAR, the San Francisco 49ers, and the Chicago Bulls. He also loved an awesome selection of music, including Journey, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, AC/DC, and many others.
Larry’s contagious laugh and unlimited storytelling will be missed by all. In his family’s hearts, he will always be their #1!
Funeral services for Larry will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday evening from 6:00–8:00 p.m. and again on Friday morning one hour prior to the service.
Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
