Larry Peterson

Larry J. Peterson. Bountiful, Utah. 1933 to 2014. Larry J. Peterson, age 80, passed away peacefully at home on May 10, 2014. He was born in his childhood home in Gunnison, Utah and was the eldest of two sons born to Gale and Clara Peterson. Larry enlisted in 1951 and served as a member of the 82nd Airborne. On April 14, 1956, Larry married Marlene Hansen (1936-1970). Together they were blessed with three children; Debra Peterson, Broomfield, Colorado, Mike (Tish) Peterson, West Jordan, and Susan (Jeff) Bobo, Mountain Green. In 1971 he married Madeline Montague McIntosh and became dad to Patty (Don) Thomas, Bountiful, Mike (Clare) McIntosh, Cheyenne, Wyoming, Makay (Cindy) McIntosh, Layton, and Matthew (Stephanie) McIntosh, Farmington. Larry and Madeline were blessed with 43 years of a wonderful marriage and 18 beautiful grandchildren and 17 loving great grandchildren.

Larry was an avid outdoorsman; he loved hunting, fishing, camping, and boating with his family and dear friends in the Manti LaSalle area. Hobbies included wood working and restoring a 1929 Model A & 1914 Model T show car.

Larry was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he served faithfully in many callings. “Pete” worked as a customer service rep. in the RV department at Ardel Brown and Barber Brothers (Bountiful) and was lucky to work in an industry he loved and enjoyed both the work and all the great people. Pete was a very loving, caring and giving person who was a gentle giant. Pete is survived by his loving wife Madeline, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and brother, Cloyd (Anne) Peterson. Pete was preceded in death by his parents, and first wife, Marlene. He will surely be missed.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 16, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Bountiful 11th LDS Ward, 115 Wicker Lane. A viewing will be held Thursday from 6-8 pm at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 N. Main St. and one hour prior to services at the church house on Friday. Interment - Valley View Memorial Park.
