June 30, 1968 - February 13, 2023
Rest in peace to an ALS warrior, father, grandfather, brother, nephew, uncle, and friend. Larry Passed away on February 13, 2023, in the George E. Wahlen Veterans Home in Ogden, Utah. Born June 30, 1968, in Saddlebrook New Jersey to Rosemary Harper Earney and Laszlo Anthony Ujhely. Larry attended Granger High School and Salt Lake Community College.
Larry was a Desert Storm Marine Corp Navy Veteran, and his ALS was 100% service connected.
Larry was diagnosed with ALS on February 4, 2016, but he never let his diagnoses hold him back. He spent the 7 years living life to the fullest; advocating, fundraising, traveling, touring the MLB baseball stadiums, and loving his family.
Since being diagnosed with ALS, it showed everyone how much of a warrior he truly was. It proved to his children that no matter what, we love, fight and support our family. Larry fought hard for what he loved. He fought the hardest for his kids and he literally lived for his grandkids. They were his reason for fighting.
Larry was an inspiration to the ALS community. He started his ALS Warrior Foundation in 2019 and held the first annual ALS Warrior 5K, which inspired people around the country to get out and get moving.
Before ALS, Larry spent his career as an engineer drafting, and his spare time playing computer games (mainly EverQuest), fishing, doing taekwondo, riding motorcycles, running, karaoke, and shooting photography, specifically landscapes and live-action sports shots with his children being his favorite subject-t- almost anything, he was athletic, talented, and easy going. He just wanted to be around people he loved. He loved watching sports; basketball, baseball, and soccer were his top sports. He is a huge fan of Yankees baseball and Liverpool futbol.
It is comforting to know Larry is now reunited with his mom and no longer confined to his physical body. He was an inspiration to many and his memory will live on forever.
Larry is preceded in death by His mother Rosemary and nana Lily. Survived by his children, Vanessa (Ty), Jordan (Alina), and Mckenzie (Damir), siblings, David, Sean, Andrew, and Leslie and grandchildren, Amelija, Leif, and Kai.
