LaRue married the love of her life, Larry Alvin Erickson, in July 1960. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on July 8, 2005. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with adventure, love, and deep devotion to their family and faith.
A dedicated homemaker, LaRue found joy in caring for her husband and daughters. She was an exceptional cook who loved feeding her family, friends, and countless missionaries over the years- everyone who sat at her table felt the warmth of her generous heart. She also had a passion for sewing, quilting, knitting, and a fondness for going out to eat. Some of her favorite memories were made alongside Larry, fishing in Alaska and exploring new places. Because Larry's career working on power lines, they lived in 15 states and called 94 different places home-including Hawaii three times.
LaRue was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter-day Saints, and her faith was a guiding light in her life. Her kindness, creativity, and unwavering love for her family will be remembered always.
She is survived by her daughters Kerri Henrie (Brian), Janiece Sterzer (Russ), and Connie Erickson; her five grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; her brothers Richard Burt (Sherry), Jim Burt (Marylee); and her sister Dorothy Coburn (Gary). She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Larry Alvin Erickson; her sister Virginia Ashby (Roger); an her parents.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City , Utah. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 10, 2025 at 11
AM at the same location with a viewing 1 hour prior.
