He was known for his sense of humor and his keen interest in weather and sports statistics. He served in the Army for two years and later worked for American Linen until he retired.
Lawrence is survived by his daughter, Catherine Thompson and brother, Carl Thompson. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Spencer and Douglas.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Valley View Funeral Home Chapel, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah. Interment will follow the service in Valley View Memorial Park.
