Lawrence Van Der Elburg passed away on July 25, 2025, at the age of 67. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Cornelius and Jansje E. Spiker, as well as his niece Tanya and granddaughter Paislee.
Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, Lawrence was the first of his family to be born in America after his parents and siblings immigrated from Holland. He carried their heritage with pride and lived a life rooted in hard work, warmth, and adventure. For 41 years, he devoted himself to his career at Coca-Cola, earning the respect and admiration of all who worked alongside him.
Lawrence had a true love for the open road—whether he was behind the wheel of a semi, out four-wheeling in the mountains, or driving to nowhere in particular with John Denver playing on a Sunday morning. His happiest moments were spent boating with family, exploring local destinations, and bringing joy to every gathering. He was the biggest kid at heart—kind, giving, and always quick to laugh.
He is survived by his loving wife, Luanne, with whom he shared nearly 49 beautiful years of marriage, and their children: Brad (Amber), Jennie (Ryan), Dryw, Jeremy (Jena), and Koree (Brandon), along with ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild who adored him.
A viewing will be held on August 8, 2025, from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at Valley View Memorial (4335 W. 4100 S., West Valley City, Utah), with funeral services beginning at 1:00 PM, followed by a graveside dedication.
Lawrence’s legacy is one of loyalty, laughter, and love. His spirit lives on in every road trip, every lake day, and every simple moment made special by his presence.
