Lee Byron Pierce

1941 ~ 2012

Lee Byron Pierce, age 70, passed away peacefully in West Valley City, Utah on January 24, 2012 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

He was born July 24, 1941 to Byron Pierce and Melba Curtis in Provo, Utah. He married his sweetheart, Carol Wright in Clinton, Massachusetts on April 8, 1961. They moved to Salt Lake in 1970 to raise their family and enjoyed 51 years of marriage. Lee worked for Sheet Metal Specialties where he excelled in his work and retired in 2000. He had many passions in life, including family, fishing, hunting and camping. He was an excellent dad, and his kids will miss him greatly. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol; daughter, Sherrill (Kevin) Owens; son, Larry Pierce; brothers, Gary (Robyn) Curtis and Kelly Curtis; sisters, Kathy and Janice; sister-in-law, Vicki Privett; grandchildren, Nathan Pierce, Mandi (Bart) Richins, Ashlee Pierce, Mallorie Owens and Braxton Pierce; two great grandchildren, Makala Pierce and Lainie Richins, and one on the way. Also survived by his dog, Toby. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Leesa Wilcox; brothers, Jay and Ray Pierce.

Visitation Services for Lee will be held Monday evening, January 30th from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South.
