Lewellyn J Sherman

1944~2014

Lew Sherman passed away on July 2, 2014 from complications of COPD. He was born on the "lucky" day of Thursday January 13, 1944 in Hiawatha, UT to Grace Nay and Orson Rupert Sherman. He graduated from Richfield High School and then attended trade school to become a finish carpenter.

He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, hunting, fishing, gold prospecting, attending gold club meetings and family events. He married Connie Rasmussen on February 18, 1968, later divorced. He is survived by his children, daughters Natalie (Dan) Andersen, Valerie (Roger) Shelton, son Rudgel Sherman, daughter-in-law Kimberly Black Sherman. Seven awesome grandchildren that he loved and they loved him, Teri, Ford, Brandon, Drew, Trevor, Bailey and Seth. His brother Paul and sisters Iris and Dorothy. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Rudgel. Lew was very caring, giving and generous, and he is greatly missed.

A funeral service will be held at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 11:00 am, with a viewing on Tuesday July 8, 2014 6-8 pm and July 9, 2014 10 - 10:45. www.valleyviewfuneral.com.
