Lisa Kaye Brimhall, age 42, passed away on September 20, 2024 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born April 3, 1982 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Paul Earl Kalp and Sheryl Lynne Kalp. Lisa was a 2000 graduate from Kearns High School.
Lisa was a woman of many passions and talents. She had a deep love for basketball, both as a player in her younger years and as an enthusiastic fan her entire life. Whether shooting hoops with her sisters and dad or cheering on the Utah Jazz, basketball was a constant source of joy for her.
An incredibly skilled woodworker, Lisa could be found outside with her dad crafting beautiful pieces for family and friends. Her attention to detail and love for the craft made each piece a treasured gift. As she grew older, Lisa found relaxation in crocheting, a hobby that showed her artistic and patient nature. She made blankets, stuffed animals, and gifts for loved ones, often just to bring a smile to someone’s face.
Lisa was also an avid reader, always with a book in hand or a recommendation for anyone looking for their next good read. This is what made her so wonderful at her job for the Salt Lake County Library. Her love for literature spanned many genres, and she enjoyed getting lost in stories as much as she enjoyed sharing them.
What truly defined Lisa, however, was her heart. She had a natural ability to make friends easily, brightening joy and a quick joke with her warm personality and infectious laughter. She was always willing to help others, whether it was lending a hand to a neighbor or offering a listening ear to a friend in need. Lisa’s generosity and compassion were felt by all who knew her, and her presence will be sorely missed.
